James Morse is listed from 1822
until 1845 as a Wine and Spirit Merchant at London Street and from 1846
at White Hart Lane.
John Morse is listed from 1822 until 1830 as a Brewer & Maltster at
London Street. In 1836 until 1846 it is listed as Exors of John Morse at
White Hart Lane.
In 1850 Arthur Morse is listed as Brewer, Maltster and Wine and
Spirit Merchant at White Hart Lane. This is also the case in 1854 and
1856. In 1858 Exors of Arthur Morse are listed with Robert Alpe as
Manager. By 1863 the company had become Morse and Woods. Robert Alpe
continued to manage Morse and Woods until 1888 when Frederick Alpe took
over and by 1890 Mrs. Johnson was in charge. In 1895 Morse and Woods were
taken over by Steward and Patteson Limited of Norwich.
