Painted Label bottles are sometimes referred to as 'Stencilled', 'Fired On', 'Burnt On' or 'Transfered', but, apparently the correct technical name is 'Applied Colour Labels' (ACL). The ones above are mainly  from the 1950's, but this type (I think?) was particularly common in the USA from the 1930's, on soda bottles.
As for the UK, there is mention in one of Graces Guides (*) to the application of "coloured enamel labels" to glass bottles.
